Green Lantern Corps #8 SPOILERS

Uh oh, the Guardians just told Guy, "We feel you have been overlooked"..."FEEL"?- No good can come of this?

A promotion? Uh oh, I see where this is going...divide and conquer.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer... by putting Guy in charge, he won't suspect anything coming down the pike from the Guardians.

It seems to me that the Guardians want the Corps off kilter for when it's replaced so they can pull it off as seamlessly as possible. They know he is battle hardened and respected but they see him as irrational and thick headed. In their eyes, they've just created a figurehead who they believe will make sure the Corps doesn't live up to its potential while they ready themselves for whatever exactly it is they're planning with the Third Army (which technically should be called the Fourth Army: Manhunters, Halla, GLC. Although it's possible the Halla didn't exist in this continuity).

Anyone else wondering if the Third Army is a reference to the Third Reich? Maybe the Guardians are breeding an Oan Army made of emotionless, blue skinned, white haired soldiers purely dedicated to the Guardians' agenda.

I might just be taking Holocaust Remembrance Day a little too far though.

Before the Guardians were just assholes...now they're just plotting evil things...EVIL.

There's also the Fist of the Guardians and The Alpha-Lanterns, and lest we not forget the room of orange lantern rings on Okaara. So ultimately, the third army of popular well known and established characters, lol.

And the reference to the other thing, I could see that.
