Kilowag vs Skallox?
Star Sapphires?
Saint Walker?
Hulking Thanagarians?

Awesome. And then there's this gem...

...if the DCBS discount is good enough, it just might make it into my home. Although...I did pass up on that Hal vs Parallax statue, so this one's alright, right? Right?

I always imagined Saint Walker as sounding a bit more "alien," but I like how they're characterizing him, at least in that clip - he is INCREDIBLY smug. "Do YOU have a problem with you?"

So far I think they're strongly telegraphing that Aya will eventually become a GL - but Kilowog's reaction to her as an AI/android last week seems to imply this isn't a common thing in the Corps, at least not yet. Probably won't see an Animated Stel anytime soon, then.

Just before the old forums imploded, I posted about the first "regular" episode, "Razer's Edge." So many great classic GL references! First of all: the freaking Spider Guild! I like the idea of a bunch of the classic GL villain races living on the Frontier outside of "Guardian Space."
This clip shows yet another appearance of the "yellow element" we first saw in that episode. Considering that they seemed surprised by its effects, it seems like the Yellow/Fear impurity is something the Corps isn't aware of, at least not yet. I just hope they somehow tie it to fear and not just be yellow rocks - I was very frustrated by the yellow element/green element lacking any explanation in First Flight.
I'm also really digging the Animated version of the Red Lanterns. I mean, I'll go ahead and say it. I like it better than how they're being presented in the comics right now, though I know part of this is because Sinestro is/was initially off limits and they got promoted up to be primary villains. Though it is too bad that the red rings can be removed with no ill effects on the show, but I guess that's understandable. How great was it to hear Atrocitus' voice come from the red ring and say "You have great rage in your heart. You belong to the Red Lantern Corps"? Awesomely great, I say! I hope we'll hear other rings choose their bearers similarly, though it's a bit disappointing the green rings don't talk at all. But I think its harder to make work in video than on the printed page. I'm glad last week they at least mentioned the problem that Razer doesn't have a battery - though I think it's still a little unclear whether staying filled with rage really does keep him topped off, or just delays the inevitable. I don't think there's any way CN would like the comics' version of the Red Lantern oath fly, which is too bad.

Hulking Thanagarians are so much cooler than Hulking Nuclear Men.

Animated Saint Walker looks a lot like Jedi Master Kit Fisto, right?

Yes! I never thought it about the comics version, but the way his eyes and mouth move is very Kit Fisto-ey.

I'm with you on the Red Lanterns, I'm enjoying the cartoon take on them a lot more than the comics. I even kind of like the fact that the rings can be removed. It hands a lot more responsibility over to Razer, so he can't blame the ring for too much. It's all his choice.

Awesome indeed. I haven't been enjoying GL as much as YJ but I love the Easter Eggs and references that come from the comic.

I don't think it means that Stel isn't a GL, it just means that Aya is a nav comp who is exceeding her programing and this particular instance could be rare.

I think the being full or Rage just delays the inevitable.

Good point, as a program designed to fly a starship, Aya's probably nowhere near the level of recognition that Stel's android civilization would be. We can only hope he's somewhere out there, getting blown apart...

Is it me or is Aya too sexy?

She is pretty sexy, but only just a tad over the line. I like that she can now be in the ship and her body at the same time.

She does have a Sapphire-esque outfit..."outfit"...but I think it's basically covered by that old trick of using a non-human skin color so audiences forget the character isn't completely clothed. Everyone I knew growing up watched the X-Men cartoon on Fox, none of them ever thought about the fact that Beast only wore a speedo.

This is awesome!
