I always imagined Saint Walker as sounding a bit more "alien," but I like how they're characterizing him, at least in that clip - he is INCREDIBLY smug. "Do YOU have a problem with you?"
So far I think they're strongly telegraphing that Aya will eventually become a GL - but Kilowog's reaction to her as an AI/android last week seems to imply this isn't a common thing in the Corps, at least not yet. Probably won't see an Animated Stel anytime soon, then.
Just before the old forums imploded, I posted about the first "regular" episode, "Razer's Edge." So many great classic GL references! First of all: the freaking Spider Guild! I like the idea of a bunch of the classic GL villain races living on the Frontier outside of "Guardian Space."
This clip shows yet another appearance of the "yellow element" we first saw in that episode. Considering that they seemed surprised by its effects, it seems like the Yellow/Fear impurity is something the Corps isn't aware of, at least not yet. I just hope they somehow tie it to fear and not just be yellow rocks - I was very frustrated by the yellow element/green element lacking any explanation in First Flight.
I'm also really digging the Animated version of the Red Lanterns. I mean, I'll go ahead and say it. I like it better than how they're being presented in the comics right now, though I know part of this is because Sinestro is/was initially off limits and they got promoted up to be primary villains. Though it is too bad that the red rings can be removed with no ill effects on the show, but I guess that's understandable. How great was it to hear Atrocitus' voice come from the red ring and say "You have great rage in your heart. You belong to the Red Lantern Corps"? Awesomely great, I say! I hope we'll hear other rings choose their bearers similarly, though it's a bit disappointing the green rings don't talk at all. But I think its harder to make work in video than on the printed page. I'm glad last week they at least mentioned the problem that Razer doesn't have a battery - though I think it's still a little unclear whether staying filled with rage really does keep him topped off, or just delays the inevitable. I don't think there's any way CN would like the comics' version of the Red Lantern oath fly, which is too bad.
