I did it! Over the last 10 months I’ve listened to every episode of the Lanterncast! and followed along with the trades from Rebirth through the current issues of the New 52. I walked into a comic book store last summer (after a long, long hiatus from comics) and asked what a good jumping on point would be for Green Lantern. I was told the Geoff Johns run is great so I picked up Rebirth and Recharge and I haven’t looked back. Because I am a newbie to Green Lantern I think the Lanterncast! stands out from others because your knowledge and history of Green Lantern is second to none.

The opening episodes were great as the podcast got up and running and specifically the commentary through Blackest Night was stellar. Dan’s solo project through Mosaic was excellent and some of my favourite episodes were the Showcase issues because they were absolutely hilarious.

The addition of Chad has been terrific too especially with the Larfleeze reports. Chad reminds me of the “Jason Newsted” of the group, being a great addition to the team but will always be considered the “new guy” by the founders Lanterncast! founders Jim and Dan which is actually good because it adds fun banter between the three of you.

But specifically the episode that rises to the top is episode #67 titled “Jim’s Drunk!” This episode had me laughing all the way through and maybe because it reminded me of many drunken nights I’ve had in the past. Maybe we’ll be treated to another drunk episode before a new arrival to Jim’s family in October??

I even followed along with the “First Flight” commentary which I think you should do more of in the future for sure. I also enjoy the reviews of old miniseries like “Ganthet’s Tale” and “Guy Gardner: CD” (even the terrible miniseries need to be reviewed for what they are because the episodes are actually quite entertaining).

Dan, glad you decided to come back from your break in 2010 or else we might not have got the Mosaic series. Chad, keep up the good work with the Larfleeze reports.

Also, great job by James, Corwin, Jason and others that have contributed too.

That’s enough of my babbling, I just wanted to give you guys a shoutout for your great work and keep it up.

lol, I definatly agree, this one is pure gold. It will be hard for Jim to do another now that he is with child though, lol

Dude this is fantastic and humbling to hear. And I'm not saying it just because of your comments about me or the Larfleeze Report. We can tell by the numbers that we're fairly popular (we don't have a big head about it, but the numbers show what they show) but we don't hear a whole lot of commentary from friends and fans about the show. It's great to hear that we're making a positive impact. I can tell you as someone whos gone from fan to co-host that this show keeps our listeners in mind ALOT in what we do. So thank you for all the kind words.

It's nice to know we have a replacement for Chad ready in the wings What a Face

Also, I'm curious, how often did you listen to in order to pack 133 episodes into 10 months? Was it like two or three a day or something?

I commute about 2hrs a day so it was easy to get in about 3 episodes a week give or take. I spent extra time sitting down with the comics during the episodes with reviews though.
