So I've read it. I liked it. I saw pages of it weeks ago and KNEW it would be epic. And it was.

But I'll save the vast majority of my commentary on it for our episode about it.

But one thing I CAN'T wait to discuss, is Geoff's fulfilling of a promise he made long ago...the Orange Lantern Oath...

One can only hope so. I have read this 3 times already and I still can't get enough of it. Best issue of the year for me hands down. I don't care what comes out after this. GL #20 is my favorite issue of the year. Loved it.

Agreed. Wow what a great issue. Looking back the Johns' Green Lantern title alone has been pretty solid. It hit a high point with the Annual and kind of trended downwards towards it's conclusion. Now the family of GL titles at times felt bloated and redundant which brought us all down. But if we were only reading GL? I'm sure we would have held the last few story arcs in higher regard. (And now we're getting a 5th title?)

For the longest time I wondered why Sinestro never became the host for Parallax and now we know why Johns was saving it. Kind of sucks that Korugar is still gone though, Sinestro doesn't get any kind of happy ending. Everyone kept throwing it in his face that because he didn't ask for help Korugar was destroyed. I'd like to think that may have changed him…And him having feelings for Arsona? Makes it even worse. I think he has some adventures still a head of him which he burned from the book of Oa. And I loved how Snow asked about him and how his story ended.

There are a few things I have to go back and check on. Volthoom for one thing.

He arrived from a different time AND universe?
Does he look like the character from the other Earth?
What color lantern was he actually carrying? Looks white or light blue.
When Krona peered into the beginning of all things Volthoom's hand (with a ring? what color? Green?) came through followed by his whole body.
In GL #20 once he got his ring from Ganthet then started messing with reality and we see the giant hand with a Green ring.

Now we also see when the Guardians decided to rid themselves of emotion Volthoom was there and grabbed the ring.
But didn't in an earlier issue we saw the Guardians saying Volthoom was crazy and they needed to rid themselves of emotion to be immune to him?
Or maybe once they removed their emotions and created the first lantern (full of their emotions) and ring they still had an attachment to it? And then decided to sever that?

And Geoff totally hinted at the strength of the Guardian's emotions way back in an interview but I thought it had something to do with their possession by the entities.

And now that my mind is working…back during Rage of the Red Lanterns Hal had a question for Sinestro but I always thought it had something to do with his father's last words. Am I recalling that wrong?

I do like the "That's the tragedy, we will always be friends" line. That hit home…(even though they tried to kill each other plenty of times…)

There are so many things about this issue that had me yelping for joy, shedding a tear and just going "Hell Yeah!". I loved Sinestro controlling Parallax. I loved Hal finally seeing his dad and talking to him. I loved young Hal thinking that older Hal was his dad. I loved Sinestro telling Hal that they would always be friends. I also loved the endings and what happened with Sayd and Ganthet. There wasn't anything about this issue that wasn't just amazing and I loved every panel of it.

YES! Finally, the Orange Lantern Oath has been revealed! I'm so happy. Now, I know exactly what to say when I get my Orange Lantern power battery.

While I enjoyed the issue as a whole and its few "whoa" moments, I was a bit disappointed, especially for the $8. Sinestro as Parallax was freaking awesome. I'm getting that figure when it comes out! Mostly I was disappointed in the ending of the Wrath storyline. I mean come on, Hal comes back and defeats this big bad universally powerful guy by bringing back Nekron. A surprise for sure, but I didn't particularly like it. Ganthet and Sayd at the end was a high point. But how did Sayd come back??? She sacrificed herself against the 3rd Army. I guess anything's possible with a Guardian

The worst part was that most of the issue was a Geoff John's retrospective. I didn't particularly care about those parts.

#21 SPOILERS

I've read #21 of both Green Lantern and GLC and I think I'm going to like the new writers. I like the direction they're taking with the Templar Guardians and making Hal the "Leader" of the Corps. I really like the new artist & colorist on GLC. All of the art was good but some of the panels were beautiful.

Crossing my fingers that Red Lanterns improves drastically and that the new artist on New Guardians gets rid of Kyle's cyclops visor.

Yeah.  I feel confident that the Green Lantern franchise is in good hands.

It'll be especially interesting to see what happens now.  I feel like without the names that kept the line "safe", the Lantern books will have to earn their continued publication more now than ever before.

Absolutely.  What I'm more interested to see now is where does this franchise go from here.  I think it's a great time to be a Green Lantern fan.

I rolled my eyes when he showed up. I liked G'nort in the old issues. I don't see how he has a place in the New 52. I was really hoping he'd been left out of the relaunch. I can't see him being a character that shows up with the new creative teams taking over, so maybe we won't see him again anytime soon.
