Has anyone read New Guardians #13 yet? Is it just me or is it just a terrible piece of garbage. If its goal was to make me feel rage by the time I finished the book then it did its job very well. Absolute FAIL!

If it can spark THAT kind of reaction, I want to read it even more!

Yeah, I'm with Dan. I have yet to get to the comic shop after the zero issues, and I have not even read all of them yet. I hope it's not as bad as you say though.

Better terrible than mediocre!

Reversely, I read Red Lanterns #13 and I thought it was one of the best issues to date. Weird how that happens.

Do you guys have any new episodes coming out? I'm jonesing for some GL talk.

Well, I read the issue, and all I can say is:

Thank goodness, with all the changes in the new 52, that Alex is still in the refrigerator.

I tell you, it is good to know that in a world where the Blue Devil is unrecognizable, Tim Drake was never Robin, and there are 5.6 million Firestorms, DC knows what aspects of the old universe are really, really important and should remain unchanged.

Sadly, even the GL titles of the New 52 are not that interesting for me. The only series that I'm enjoying so far is the Huntress & Powergirl title. (I know there is a gay joke in there somewhere, can someone put it all together for me?) Even Earth 2 isn't doing it for me. I've lost all of the emotional connection I had with most DC characters and due to all the questions of what happened and what hasnt happened... It just leave me lost these days. Sad

Currently I'm down to the 4 GL Titles, Earth 2, Huntrees & PG, Superboy, Teen Titans, Legion Lost and LoSH. Superboy and Teen Titans I'm considering dropping, Legion Lost is ending. I used to order from DCBS and get around $100 a month of comics mostly DC based. Now I'm aroung $80 and more Marvel based.

At least I have a really nice hard cover coffee table book detailing DC history through the first 75 years (up to Blackest Night) so I can remember the good old days.

Haha that's excellent.

New Guardians still stinks.......

What happened to this series?!

I'm not sure. I think maybe because it wasn't one of the higher DC books, they stripped it of a good artist, and maybe Bedard is rushing things to fit into the timeline of the Turd Army story (not a typo) so he's messing stuff up. Or maybe it's some kind of fucktarded editorial decree to do this to Kyle. I don't know. The whole line of GL books is having issues here and there for me. Some minor, some MAJOR.

I think lately the randomness of the NG issues has been hurting it...it's choppy.

I still haven't read the last three issues. They're right next to me, I'm just not motivated to. So I'll be reading #s 13, 14, and 15 for the first time when we record.

I have a good feeling we're going to have an epic Lanterncast episode coming up with these reviews. I think you guys should have a few drinks before recording too.

Specifically to New Guardians, can you please address how you feel Kyle is being portrayed by Tony Bedard? I know Jim's favourite is Kyle so I'd like to know if Kyle is being treated fairly here by the writer (to me it doesn't). I am a Green Lantern newbie so I'll admit I haven't read any of Kyle's run yet from 1994-2004 yet BUT, being a newly dedicated and addicted Green Lantern fan I have actually started my quest to read all #181 issues from Green Lantern 1990-2004. I'm on issue #18 right now and I'm having a blast reading these stories so far. They're much more fun to read than the current issues.

It's a complete and utter crime that there are only a few scattered trades of Kyle's series.

...and how much would you think a bound volume of Kyle's run would go for...?

And they ain't cheap! I've got a few though. We'll call them "James' college fund Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3..." lol

Is there that much demand for Kyle's run, though? I obviously loved it, but beyond the odd person seeing him in GLC or NG and thinking "hey, I wonder if there's more of THAT guy", I don't really know if or why a lot of people would be clamoring for it.
