'Thor: The Dark World' - Discussion [SPOILERS!]

So I just got through seeing 'Thor: The Dark World'. I have a thought that I've been waiting for until this movie came out. In truth, I've been thinking this since the first Thor movie but I waited for the sequel. Ready?

The individual Thor movies were handled the way the Green Lantern movie(s) could/should have been.

Think about it, Thor is from another realm/planet. A place populated by thousands like him. He splits his time between that far off place and Earth/Midgard. The first movie they introduce the mythos, spend an appropriate amount of time on Asgard and tie things nicely with earth. In the second movie, the mythos is established. 9 realms. Asgard, Midgard and Jotunheim were ALL in the first movie, now more make themselves known and MOST of the movie is set in the other realms.

Now were either of the Thor movies mega blockbusters or the best films ever? No. But the first Thor movie was pretty good (something GL wasn't honestly) and the second one was even better...and more awe inspiring.



THAT'S how the GL movies should have been, if they ever even got past the FIRST one.

I just got back from seeing it. Really good movie but a bit weak on plot. But it was a really well written and thought out plot. There was some good character development with Thor and Jane. All in all it was a good mix of action and story. If Green Lantern would've had this mix, then it would have been a much better movie. It would have helped if GL would have had a cleaner storyline too. Keep parallax as the main villian, Sinestro as the "is he good or is he has bad character", and leave out Hector Hammond completely.

BTW in Thor 2, the ending with Loki was a bit too predictable. I won't say anything more so as too not spoil it.

Something I loved was Cap's cameo!

and one last thing. Christopher Eccleston was the main bad guy, not that you could tell under all that makeup. Still it's awesome to have 9th Doctor in a superhero movie!

Y'know, I was trying to be on the lookout the entire movie but I didn't see them.

See I would have taken it in the other direction. Let Hal go to Oa and train, come back to Earth deal with Hector while Parallax could be looming in the background.

Second movie, focus more on Sinestro/Hal relationship then bring in Parallax as the main bad.
