What if Proselyte (that's Squishy to some) was created when Jesus walked on water?

Right but again, even with the scenario, why would the compassion that was felt by Jesus create an entity out of this creature that just happened to be nearby?

Check out these images. This is the sequence where they revealed the origin of the entities. This microorganism felt the will to move, did so and suddenly sparked up with emerald light and evolved rapidly into Ion. This random bug felt fear and sparked up into Parallax....so if the entities are made from something RESEMBLING the thing they were originally...why even think it was Christ or Noah and the flood or the Murder of Abel by Cain? The bull could've impaled someone in a fit of rage. The bird (could still be TIED to Noah) as in it was flying for days looking for somewhere to rest but didn't give up in the HOPE that it would find a branch to alight on. Etc...

I freely admit the Stormwatch issue wasn't that great, but I did enjoy the art.

As for the team I can't fault you for not liking the characters but I implore you guys to read the first 12 issues of the Authority by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. 10/10. Seriously great stuff. Hell, I'll jump on an episode if you want to talk about it but it's something every comic fan should have in their collection.

...that and Planetary by Ellis and John Cassady.

For the record, I wanted to be on this one, but Comcast disagreed.

...and I like this arc of GLC. Yeah, it sucks that they go back to the well with John all the time, but this is at least a way of approaching it that we haven't seen before. I like that it's a downer, talking heads story, because it's something different that we don't usually get. Don't ever, ever mistakenly think it's the job of a storyteller, or a story, to make you feel good. If that's not the kind of story they're telling, then that's not the kind of story they're telling, and there's a reason for it.

I like adventure as much as Jim does, but I'm invested in the characters of John Stewart and Guy Gardner, I enjoy them as characters and as people, so I get as much out of a story like this as I do a story filled with cool fights. And I love that Tomasi has the freedom to do this sort of story, most likely because there're currently four GL books all with different casts, all telling different stories.

While it's not their job to always write feel good stories, it is their job to entertain. Now you enjoy this arc, despite the fact that this has been the premise of what, 3, 4 or 5 stories before it, because it's approached differently in your words. my take is that it's the same story we've gotten just expanded and decompressed to the point of ridicule, but that's just my opinion.

I on the other hand do not find this rehash entertaining. You are invested in the characters, hell, so am I. The difference is that you would be happy reading a 12 issue yearlong story of John's losing fight with brain cancer while I would drop the book for anything else that had an iota of Green lanterns doing fun and entertaining Green Lantern stuff. Your love of the characters can carry you through countless issues where the protagonists don't do anything remotely close to what the book is based on.

And it's not that I don't want any non-Green Lantern stuff in the book. I DO like seeing the downtime. I DO enjoy character building. But this? They're not building character here. If anything it's recycling old character bits yet again. It's Martyr John all over again. And this isn't John's downtime. This is let's devote 6 issues to him being charged stupidly for a crime he needed to commit to save thousands.

Ugh. I don't know if that was a coherent argument, but I'm angry and tired now.

Hope was the flood. Thats why we see the rain storm. Its the hope for a better tomorrow.
As for compassion. Its gotta be jesus dying on the cross. He died so that the world could be cleansed of sin. And what happens when you put on the indigo ring. Your sins are washed away.

As for the books. Digging new gaurdians. Love GL. Red lantern kinda sucks. Its weird hated the storm watch storyline. And green lantern corps, sigh, if john went on trial here why didnt he go on trial for killing Mogo? And if there is a code to enter OA how did the bounty hunters get in last issue. Its just stupid.

Kind of how I couldn't care less about the whole Third Army thing, because we've been getting a "big crossover" in the Lantern books every year for the last three years.

This is the way it usually goes for John:

John is responsible for some death, and he carries that weight around with him for years and years, never getting any resolution to it. Sometimes they'll teas us and tell us that he's coming to terms with it, but don't worry, they're just kidding. Meanwhile, the Guardians and entire GLC are basically fine with what happened, and barely ever mention it, except when expressing how sorry they feel for John. John hates what he did, and knows his mistakes killed people for no reason.

Here's what happened this time:

John is responsible for some death, and almost immediately gets called out on it by his superiors in the GLC. Weather or not he made the right decision is a divisive topic for every other Green Lantern, and it turns Oa into a powder keg. John hates what he did, but knows he had to do it.

...this is not the same old story recycled. The super-basic concept is, but this story is different.

This also makes for an interesting Guy Gardner story because it's a fight he can't win by punching someone in the face, and that's how he usually solves all of his problems. He knows he can't fight the Alpha Lanterns and win, and the Guardians won't help him. He tried helping John the right way, and now that there's nothing left to do, he defaults back to classic Guy: make a ruckus and hope like hell it works out. Come to think of it, that bar scene with those bounty hunters is a nice little microcosm for Guy's entire character arc in this story: he tried to rein himself in, solve the conflict with his words, with reason, but it didn't work so he jumped in swinging.

I don't care about the big crossover aspect of the Third Army story, (although now they are downplaying the big-ness of the crossover) but I am intrigued by the concept of the third army in general.

meh. I just want general stories at this point. Nothing that builds up to anything else, just random stories that stand on their own. Hal and Sinestro learning the secrets of the Indigo Tribe as we push towards the Third Army? Pass. Hal and Sinestro in an uneasy buddy cop adventure on a prison planet where the population can go from psycho killers to good guys with the flip of a switch? Yes please.

I like the big crossovers. However its always billed as being the next big thing. Yet at the end of the day after the new 52 all brightest day was bringin back swamp thing. Which really wasnt needed. Te white lantern so far is just gone. Then war of the green lanterns agian ended with nothing. I hope that the third army has something to it. Yet with the bew announcement that this is just a piece of a bigger event coming, leads me to think this is yet another whatever crossoverthat accomplishes nothing. Hopefully im wrong. I'm sure i will enjoy the read but yea its gonna be a big meh in the grand scheme.
